The 2023 fall/winter village gear is designed and manufactured with local brand Blackstar.

The concept of creating functional art from upcycled materials has been core to what we do at the Village, and also at Blackstar. We took these ideas literally to create unique pieces that reflect the stories of those who have contributed to the patchwork quilt of our culture.

BlackStar the brand is based in Atlanta , Ga by local creative Nicholas Grier with the message to create wearable art and show the similarities of fashion and art.
BlackStar the brand up-cycles garments and bring new life to them to allow the garment to speak for itself with love.

Technical Designer

Max started working with the village by pulling materials out of the trash and building with them. Hosting a sewing circle every sunday at the skatepark has naturally grown into designing and manufacturing garments in house at the skatepark.

As a story teller, its important to make sure the work of the many villagers who contributed to this collection are stitched together and told through the designs and works of art featured here.
